The 2014 Wetlands Festival will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014, from 9:00am until 3:00pm at beautiful Fort Christmas Park in Christmas, Florida.
All of the parking, activities, and stage shows are free of charge! Help keep our animals wild...no pets are allowed at this event.
This year the City of Orlando, Orange Audubon Society, and Orange County Parks and Recreation Department have teamed up to bring you the Best Wetlands Festival in the United States.
This year the event will feature comedy and magic by renowned magician Brian Staron.
Also appearing, Tom MacCubbin from the "Better Lawns & Gardens" Radio Show. Tom will be available to answer all of your lawn and garden questions.
Also appearing for 2014, the Talako Indian Dancers, a non-profit performing youth organization that is devoted to sharing American Indian culture with the community through dance.
The Florida Native Plant Society will lead native plant identification hikes; while, the Florida Trail Association will lead wilderness hikes. Guided photo hikes will be led by professional nature and wildlife photographers.
Guided bus tours will travel along the wetland berms, giving riders a chance to experience firsthand, Florida’s wild wetlands. Hay rides will also be given allowing passengers a chance to relax and take in the scenery.
Bird-banding and mist-netting demonstrations will occur, as well as, live music provided country musician Homer Stiles.
There will be many interactive children’s activities like Out-On-A-Limb kids tree climbing, a bounce house, and rock climbing wall! All events are free!
