Orlando Watersports Complex 8615 Florida Rock Road, Orlando 32824 (407) 251-3100 www.orlandowatersports.com
The Orlando Watersports Complex is a unique watersports park designed for wakeboarding, wakeskating and waterskiing. Only 7 years old, OWC has quickly become the premiere locale for riders of all levels. From beginning riders just wanting to try the sport for recreation, to the professional wakeboarders and skiiers from all over the world, OWC caters to all.
The most beneficial aspect of the park is the immense amount of time you can spend on the water. OWC is the only facility in the United States to have two cableways; our beginner/intermediate cable park and our slider park. The cableways allow for unlimited riding time to improve the foundation skills for wakeboarding, wakeskating and skiing. We are constantly changing and improving our sliders - making OWC the premiere slider park in the world.
In addition to the cableways, OWC is a great place to train behind Ski and Air Nautiques, headed up by our professional coaching staff. Riders of all skill levels come here to ride and train.

Turkey Lake Park
It's amazing that this park, more commonly known as Turkey Lake, is so close to the theme parks and yet feels so far away. It is by far one of the best parks in the Orlando area.
The location is beautiful and offers picnic areas, disc golf, hiking trails, a bike path, and shaded areas. Three large children's playgrounds offer hours of fun for kids of all ages. Swimming is available in a pool overlooking the lake.
If you ask anyone "in the know" where to take your kids fishing, the answer is almost always Turkey Lake Park. The lake is stocked with bass and other species of fish, so little ones have an easy time making their first "catch." Bring your own poles, or rent equipment at the Bait Shop, which is open Thu-Sun, 7am-11am, and has almost everything you need... the exception, believe it or not, being live bait - you'll have to bring that on your own. While kids don't need a license to fish, anyone over 16 needs to obtain a fishing license. Most bait-and-tackle shops and sports retailers (like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Sports Authority) sell licenses.
Across the park, an “all children’s” playground offers an enormous wood and car-tire wonderland that will offer little ones hours of exploration and fun. Shaded gazebos nearby keep Mom and Dad out of the sun. No eating here, however, as food draws rats and other not-so-welcome wildlife. Next door is a “Cracker” farm featuring an authentic 100-year-old barn, to give kids an idea of what pioneer Florida looked and felt like.

Fort Christmas Historical Museum and Park
Visit the full size replica of Fort Christmas. Seven restored historical homes preserve the 'Cracker' architecture of East Orange County.
On December 25, 1837, a force of 2,000 U.S. Army Soldiers and Alabama Volunteers arrived near this spot to construct a fort which was aptly named, Fort Christmas. This fort was only one of over 200 forts built during the Second Seminole Indian War, 1835 - 1842. The fort houses exhibits and a video presentation on the Seminole Indian Wars.

The Orlando Odditorium appears to be sinking into one of Florida's infamous sinkholes. For over 40 years, Robert Ripley-- the modern Marco Polo and the real-life Indiana Jones-- traveled the world collecting the unbelievable, the inexplicable, the one-of-a-kind. All of it amazing and much of it extremely amusing. His collection is housed in over 27 museums in 10 countries. Each museum’s collection is 90% unique and different. As Ripley’s ghost says ..."Come in... look around... and see if you Believe It or Not!®"

Blue Spring State Park
http://www.floridastateparks.org/bluespring/

The largest spring on the St. Johns River, Blue Spring is a designated Manatee Refuge and the winter home (mid-November through March) to a growing population of West Indian Manatees. For centuries, the spring area was home for Native Americans. In 1766 it was visited by Colonial American botanist John Bartram, but it wasn´t until 1856 that it was settled by Louis Thursby and his family. The Thursby house, built in 1872, remains standing. The spring´s crystal clear, 73 degree water can be enjoyed by swimmers, snorkelers, and certified scuba divers with a partner. Swimming or diving with the manatees is not permitted; this rule is strictly enforced. The river is popular for fishing, canoeing, and boating. River boat tours are available; for reservations, call St. Johns River Cruises at (386) 917-0724. The park has plenty of picnic areas and a hiking trail. For overnight stays, air-conditioned cabins, a full-facility campground, and primitive campsites are available.
